چکیده

Abstract Additive manufacturing (AM) techniques represent a real challenge to manufacture novel composites with coupled multifunctional properties. This work focuses on the mechanical, electrical and thermal behaviours of 3D printed polymeric polylactic acid (PLA) filled carbon black (CB) conductive particles . The incorporation within polymer matrix allows for programmable conduction paths via printing process, whose electric properties are intimately thermo-mechanical processes. In this study, samples were prepared using fused deposition modelling (FDM) printer, controlling filament orientation three different types: longitudinal (0°); transverse (90°); oblique (±45°) orientations. Different types characterisation have been made: (i) electro-thermal tests, evaluating influence conductivity sample temperature due Joule’s heating; (ii) thermo-electrical analysing DC resistance samples; (iii) mechano-electrical effect mechanical deformation specimens’ resistance. results show strong dependence direction material conductive-PLA identify thermo-electro-mechanical interplays will contribute AM progress in functional electro-mechanical components potential applications biosensing devices, composite sensors, electrodes soft robotic industry.

Effect of Carbon Nanotube and Surfactant on Processing, Mechanical, Electrical and EMI-Shielding of Epoxy Composites

Dispersing nanoparticles in a polymer matrix is intrinsically challenging due to unfavorable entropic interactions between the matrix and the nanoparticle. In this research dispersion of nanoparticles in polymer matrix was studied and the effect of dispersion on properties was investigated. The properties of polymer composite depend on the type, size, shape, concentration of nanoparticles, and ...
